Terms of service
The rules for using Two Cents, in plain words. By creating an account or installing the widget you agree to them.
Last updated 7 October 2026
Who these terms are between
Between Mariën Digital SRL, which runs Two Cents (the legal notice has the details), and you: the person or company that creates an account. Two Cents is for professional use. If you sign up for a company, you confirm you can commit it.
What the service is
Two Cents is a hosted feedback widget. You add one script tag to your site, write the questions you want to ask, and read the answers in a dashboard. We host the widget, the dashboard, the storage and the notifications.
Your account
- Give a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why unless the risk is urgent.
Plans and billing
- Free plan: 1 site and 25 messages a month to read. Messages past that are kept, not thrown away, and can be read once you upgrade.
- Paid plans: the price and the number of sites are on the pricing section. Billing is monthly or yearly through Stripe, in advance. Prices exclude VAT where it applies; Stripe works it out at checkout.
- Cancelling: you can cancel at any time from the billing page. The plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. A period already started is not refunded, unless the law says otherwise.
- When a plan ends, sites beyond the free plan’s limit are paused, never deleted. What they collected stays readable and can be exported.
- Deleting an account is not possible while a paid plan is running, including one cancelled to end with the period. Once it ends you can delete it at any time.
- We can change prices for new periods, and will email you at least 30 days before a change reaches you.
What you may and may not do
You agree to:
- use Two Cents lawfully, and tell the people who use your site that a feedback widget collects what they write, in your own privacy notice;
- have a legal basis for asking them, and answer their requests about their messages;
- not use the service to collect what you have no right to collect, to send spam, or to harass anyone;
- not probe, overload or bypass the limits of the service, or copy it to resell it.
Your data stays yours
The messages your widgets collect belong to you. We use them only to run the service for you, as set out in the privacy policy and the data processing agreement, which is part of these terms. You can export everything as CSV or JSON at any time, including after your plan ends.
Availability
We run Two Cents carefully and back it up every night, but we promise no uptime figure. The widget is built to fail quietly: if our server is down, your visitors see no error and your site keeps working. We may change or retire features, and will warn you first when the change removes something you rely on.
Liability
We are responsible for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, and for anything the law does not let us limit. For anything else, our liability to you is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit or lost business. The free plan is provided as it is.
Ending the relationship
You can stop at any time. We can end the service for an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or stop offering Two Cents altogether; in that case we tell you at least 60 days ahead and refund what you paid for the time left.
Changes to these terms
When we change them in a way that affects you, we email you at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.
Law and courts
Belgian law applies. A dispute goes to the courts of the district where Mariën Digital SRL has its registered office, unless mandatory law gives you another court. Write to sylvain@twocentsbox.com first; most problems are solved that way.
